1. Scope and who is responsible

This policy applies to NextCue on iOS and Android and to the NextCue website and services at nextcue.datamates.in. "NextCue," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Datamate, the operator of NextCue and the controller of personal data described in this policy.

Questions and privacy requests may be sent to contact@datamates.in. If you use NextCue through a family or team workspace, other members of that workspace may also control the content they add or share.

2. Data we collect

We collect data you provide, data created when you use NextCue, and limited technical data needed to operate and secure the service.

CategoryExamples and sourceWhen collected
Account and profile Email address, display name, password credential stored as a secure hash, language, time zone, voice preference, account creation date, and identifiers returned by a sign-in provider. When you register, sign in, or edit preferences.
Tasks and user content Tasks, descriptions, subtasks, labels, projects, due dates, reminders, recurrence, completion history, focus and gamification activity, workspace names, assignments, roles, invitations, and messages or instructions sent to the AI assistant. When you create, edit, share, or complete content.
Voice and audio Audio you choose to record, its filename and duration, generated transcript, requested action, assistant response, and processing status. Uploaded audio files are temporary and are deleted after processing; transcripts and resulting task activity may remain with your account. Only when you start a voice command and grant microphone permission.
Location Approximate or precise latitude, longitude, and accuracy, used to provide nearby place or activity suggestions. NextCue does not request background location access. Only when location suggestions are enabled, you invoke a relevant feature, and the operating system grants permission.
Devices and notifications Push notification token, device platform, reminder and alarm settings, and the last time a registered device contacted the service. When you enable notifications or register a device.
Purchases and subscriptions Store, product and plan identifiers, subscription status and dates, purchase token, transaction identifiers, and verification status. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple, Google, or Razorpay. When you view, buy, restore, verify, cancel, or refund a subscription.
Technical, security, and usage IP address and request metadata in server logs, authentication and security events, timestamps, error information, AI model and token usage, operation counts, and pseudonymous service identifiers. Automatically when needed to deliver, protect, diagnose, and measure the service.
Optional diagnostics Detailed voice-workflow stages, prompts, outputs, and related identifiers used to troubleshoot and improve voice features. Only after you expressly opt in. This choice can be changed in NextCue settings.
Website storage The NextCue website stores your access token, basic account details, and an invitation token in browser local storage when needed for sign-in or workspace invitations. When you sign in on the website or open an invitation.

3. How and why we use data

  • Provide the service: authenticate users; sync, organize, remind, assign, and share tasks; operate workspaces; process voice commands; and provide AI-assisted planning.
  • Personalize requested features: use language, time zone, preferences, and optional location to produce relevant schedules and nearby suggestions.
  • Process purchases: verify entitlements, prevent duplicate or fraudulent activations, maintain subscription status, and provide support for refunds or restoration.
  • Communicate: send sign-in or confirmation codes, workspace invitations, service messages, support responses, and notifications you enable.
  • Protect and improve NextCue: prevent abuse, secure accounts, diagnose failures, maintain reliability, understand aggregate service use, and improve features. Detailed voice diagnostics are used only when you opt in.
  • Meet legal obligations: comply with applicable law, valid legal requests, accounting duties, and enforcement of our rights.

Where laws such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR apply, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, your consent for optional features, our legitimate interests in securing and improving NextCue, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate and is provided to help you organize tasks. NextCue does not use AI to make legal, employment, credit, health, or similarly significant decisions about you.

4. When data is shared

We do not sell personal data, rent it, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose only what is reasonably necessary in these situations:

  • At your direction: task, profile, assignment, and activity information may be visible to members of a family or team workspace. Workspace owners and authorized managers can manage members and shared content.
  • Cloud and infrastructure providers: hosting, database, storage, security, and delivery vendors process data to run NextCue.
  • AI and location providers: OpenRouter and its selected model providers may process prompts, task context, transcripts, and pseudonymous identifiers; Google Gemini and Google Maps grounding may process prompts and optional coordinates for location-aware suggestions.
  • Authentication providers: Google or Apple processes sign-in data when you choose that provider. We receive the identifiers and profile information the provider makes available with your authorization.
  • Notifications and communications: Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple notification services deliver push notifications; email delivery providers send account and workspace messages.
  • Payments: Apple App Store, Google Play, and, for eligible website purchases, Razorpay process purchases under their own terms and provide transaction and entitlement details to NextCue.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose data when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend rights.
  • Business changes: data may transfer as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.

We require service providers acting on our behalf to handle data only for authorized purposes and to provide appropriate confidentiality and security protections. Some providers, including app stores and sign-in providers, may also act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

5. iOS and Android permissions

Apple iOS and iPadOS

NextCue may request microphone, speech recognition, location while using the app, notifications, and background notification delivery. Apple processes App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple, and notification delivery under Apple's policies. NextCue does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

Google Android

NextCue may request microphone, approximate or precise foreground location, notifications, exact alarms, vibration, and restart-after-boot access so requested reminders can work. Google processes Google Play purchases, Google sign-in, Firebase messaging, and Maps-grounded suggestions under Google's policies. NextCue does not use the Android advertising ID for advertising.

You can deny or revoke device permissions in iOS or Android settings. Core task entry remains available without microphone or location access, although the related voice or nearby-suggestion feature will not work.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Account, profile, task, workspace, transcript, and related service data is generally kept while your account is active so it can sync across devices.
  • Uploaded voice audio is kept only while a voice request is queued or being processed and is deleted after completion or failure. The transcript, response, task changes, and queue status may remain as account data.
  • Optional detailed diagnostic records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to investigate and improve the relevant workflow. Turning off consent stops new optional diagnostic collection.
  • Transaction and subscription records may be retained as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
  • Security and operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, reliability, and legal purposes.
  • After deletion, limited data may remain temporarily in protected backups until overwritten or may be retained where law, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or security requires it. Retained data is isolated from ordinary product use.

Account and data deletion

7. Request deletion of your NextCue account

You may delete your account at any time. The deletion covers your NextCue account and personal data associated with it, including profile information, personal tasks, voice transcripts, device tokens, AI conversation records, and subscription linkage, except data we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-record obligations.

  1. In the NextCue app, open Settings and choose Delete account and data.
  2. Review the consequences, type DELETE, and confirm. Your authenticated account and active account data are deleted immediately.
  3. Shared spaces that still have other members are transferred to another member. Spaces without another member are deleted.
  4. If you cannot access the app, use the email request below from the address connected to your account. We may ask you to verify control of the account and normally complete verified manual requests within 30 days.
Request deletion without app access
Subscriptions are managed separately.

Deleting NextCue does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by an app store. Cancel it first through Google Play subscriptions or Apple subscriptions. Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data; withdraw consent; and complain to a privacy regulator. You may also have a right to appeal a decision about a request.

  • Change microphone, location, notification, and speech permissions in device settings.
  • Turn location suggestions and optional voice-workflow diagnostic sharing on or off in NextCue settings.
  • Edit profile and task content in the app.
  • Sign out of the website and clear NextCue local storage through your browser controls.
  • Email contact@datamates.in for access, correction, portability, objection, consent, or deletion requests.

We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights. We may verify your identity and authority before fulfilling a request. Authorized agents should identify the user and provide proof of authority where applicable.

California and other U.S. state disclosures

NextCue does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not knowingly use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under California law.

9. Children's privacy

NextCue is not directed to children under 13, and users must also meet any higher minimum age required to consent to online services in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable age without valid parental authorization. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided data should contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

10. Security and international transfers

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect data, including encrypted network connections, restricted service access, secure password hashing, authenticated APIs, and access controls. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

NextCue and its providers may process data in India, the United States, and other countries where they operate. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers. Privacy and data-protection rules in those locations may differ from those in your country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when NextCue's features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the app, on the website, or by email when a change is material and applicable law requires notice or consent.
